Over the last twelve years of direct practice, I've weaved through the tapestry of social work. My journey has taken me from child welfare to crisis intervention, from crime victim advocacy to various therapeutic levels of care, ranging in outpatient services to inpatient care and support. I hold master’s degrees in social work and public policy. Through these multidimensional experiences, I've specialized in the following: anxiety, depression, eating disorders, substance use, complex grief, and burnout - areas that I like to call my jam. I have a passion for social policy and am drawn to building therapeutic coalitions and services for community organizers and activists to support and sustain their mental well-being. I enjoy working with adolescents and emerging adults. Other areas close to my heart are working with the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodiverse individuals and creatives.
This isn't just a job for me; it's a privilege and an honor. Therapy is about creating a safe and affirming space where you can unpack thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I bring a blend of therapeutic approaches to the table - from the structured realms of CBT and DBT to the creative and experiential concepts of the psychodynamic all the while utilizing an attachment-based and trauma-informed lens. Life isn't neatly contained within a therapeutic hour so I incorporate systems, developmental and feminist theory as well. My approach is gentle, hopeful and harm reductionist.
Outside of the therapy world, I share my space with a lively bunch - a toddler, a teenager, my partner of 18 years, and a fluffy bundle of joy named Skittles (who happens to be part Pomeranian, my absolute favorite!). Yes, I'm a Pomeranian enthusiast, and you might catch me at local theater, concerts, shows, or even wrestling events, soaking up the energy.
Let's unravel the uniqueness within you because, in my world, there's no room for cookie-cutter approaches. Your story is one-of-a-kind, and together, we'll navigate the parts, patterns, systems and the things that make you, well, you. Know that you are welcomed, respected, and celebrated here.
I'm looking forward to connecting!
